So this is a weird post – and truly, I am not even sure how to approach it, hhmmm it’s probably best that I just lay it all out.
I need to take a moment to clear up some confusion that’s been floating around, due to actions taken by another company claiming to be Vancouver Gift Baskets. They are working on a very similar web (URL) address and each one of the their pages actually says Vancouver Gift Baskets.
It’s super important to me that you, our very valued clients, friends and supporters are fully aware that THEY ARE NOT US.
They are actually a Toronto-based firm but are operating out of a warehouse in Surrey, but the location is irreverent as it’s their business practices and poor gift quality that has unfortunately resulted in poor reviews and unhappy customers, and both have landed on my doorstep more than once. I have been contacted about everything from WCB claims, numerous BBB complaints, past employees looking for paychecks and countless unhappy customers, all thinking we are the same company. Sadly their local phone number and email are nowhere to be found on their online presence so people just reach out to us, assuming we are the same. They even have the audacity to post claims on all their webpages about being the #1 Gift Basket Company in Vancouver – – the complaints I receive weekly may question that claim.
As you know, or at least I hope you know, at VancouverGiftBaskets.com we have always held ourselves to the highest standards of ethics and transparency. For over 30 years, our commitment to these values has helped build trust and credibility with you—our cherished community of supporters- by our gift designs, product choices, and customer service.
Lately, I’ve been told that some clients are getting us mixed up with this other company, due to their misleading claims, and this mix-up has led to frustration and disappointment, which is the last thing we want for anyone thinking they are reaching out to us.
My heart broke when a couple treasure clients used their services vs ours (thinking they were with us) and then were shocked by the style of the gift, products used in the gift baskets, delay in receiving the gift on time and lack of responsiveness when seeking help.
We are proudly Vancouver-based, with a dedicated little hardworking team that strives everyday to deliver only the best in our gift baskets and boxes and has for 34 years now. It’s disheartening to see deceptive tactics in our industry start to erode the trust and integrity we’ve worked so hard to maintain.
Don’t get me wrong I believe in fair and honest competition, as it ensures a healthy market for all of us, but this firm has gone alittle too far and has added a tremendous amount of extra work to my already full plate.
Here’s why I am letting you know all this so publicly, if I may… when very kindly passing our name and information on to your family/friends or colleagues, would you mind terribly mentioning the full name of our official website, providing them with an actual link to VancouverGiftBaskets.com perhaps and even my direct contact information if you wish. That might help ensure they reach us directly vs someone else! And thank you so very much for all your continued support.
