Small Business Saturday started in 2010 by American Express, as a counterpart to Black Friday and Cyber Monday at big box retailers and as a reminder to holiday shoppers in the US to support their local brick and mortar stores nearby.
Now some small business owners run specials on the November’s Small Business Saturday to help capitalize on this awareness (appreciatively), the boost in foot or online traffic, as most customers in this time period are actively shopping for the holidays.
We, at VancouverGiftBaskets.com, are huge supporters of small businesses and work to support them on a regular basis with our personal and professional funds 🙂 and our new blog category here listing a favourite small business every other week or so.
Being a small business owner for over 2 decades now, I know that our success comes solely from the kindness of our regular longtime clients CHOOSING consistently to shop with us vs a large retailer. I am grateful for this support on a daily basis.
The original Small Business Saturday has evolved and here in Canada, we promote #ShoptheNeighbourhood.
Today’s promotions is a small holiday gift to be used to say Happy Holidays or Thank you to a neighbour, school teacher or other local heroes and pals.
Our Mug Hug gift box is regularly $12.95 but this weekend it is only $9.95. It will be delightfully received and you will be another Small Business Hero.
Thank you for stopping by and your ongoing support,
Carole Mac
