Gift Baskets Unboxed: Separating Fact from Fiction in the Gifting World

There are a few common misconceptions about the gift basket industry and after a solid 30 years of being knee deep in it, I am here to shatter a few of them.

1. Lack of Creativity: Some people may believe that gift baskets are generic and lack creativity. However, the gift basket industry has evolved significantly since its humble beginnings of fruit, cookies, chocolate and cheeseball mixes, we now offer a wide range of unique and personalized options. 2. Limited Occasions: Another misconception is that gift baskets are only suitable for specific occasions like birthdays or holidays. In reality, gift baskets can be customized to suit any occasion, from corporate events and housewarmings to get-well wishes or expressing gratitude. For many years, our tagline was ‘We will put a bow on anything’ but some people took that too literally and came up with some weird things… so yes, the occasions to gift a gift basket is wide in both breadth and depth. Some of the most memorable occasions were include: one from a dog owner to their dog walker, apologized with a gift basket after Rufus had explosive diarrhea all day, one from a tenant in a fancy condo in Kits begging the strata council for forgiveness after his robust weekend party left some of his neighbours very upset and one from the infamous director, Robert Zemeckis to his cast on ‘Bordello of Blood’ a vampire movie filmed here in Vancouver in 1996 and included Bananas and Handcuffs, Bloody Mary Mix and more… that one was just weird but apparently had a inside joke to it.  I don’t question people unusual reasons for sending a gift, I am just thrilled we could find the appropriate to compliment their need or occasion.

3. Quality of Products: Some assume that gift baskets contain only low-quality or unwanted items. However, reputable gift basket companies like ours curate their products very carefully, ensuring
